How to let go
Have you ever been in a situation that got to a point from where you felt like there is no other logical solution than to abandon the ship? Did things got so worse that the damage made by aborting the process would have been easier to bear than the result obtained by being stubborn and continuing it?
Then you wondered yourself what could you do to make things right and you pushed yourself to the limit but the solution refused to come? In that case, my friend, there is only one thing left for you to do: Just let it go!
You will ask me, why such a radical solution? I will surely answer because desperate times call for desperate measures, and this is the best option you have for reducing the “casualties”. It is better to give up to something that requires too much attention and energy and that will eventually lead you to self destruction.
Some of you will contradict me and they will say that this is a coward approach of the matter, but think outside the box for a moment. Wouldn’t take a greater courage to let it go than to hold on to an illusion? Don’t think the person that gives up becomes a loser. That person knew how to appreciate the outcome of a battle.
Also giving up to something doesn’t mean that you are thinking negative and you are saying to yourself “This is not going to work”. Not at all, the proper thought should be “With the time and energy saved I can accomplish something far greater”. If you are an optimistic person, it doesn’t mean that you should be a naïve one. You can think positive and real at the same time.
So, how can you determine if something is worthy to be abandoned?
At first, you must settle your priorities, your objectives and your resources. Put them into a balance and see if it is worthy to fight for.
So if it doesn’t and you must let go the path that you have walked on, at first you must admit and assume the failure. This is the part that takes a lot of courage. The severe the change is, the drastic is the fall, and you have to gather the strength to put yourself back into one piece.
After you are on your own feet again, you can start your next project, and learning from mistakes you have made, it will definitely be a greater success.

Hi Alexandru,
Excellent post. In fact I would not disagree with you one bit, on the other hand I would argue that some people do not abandon situations that are not serving them fast enough and then wallow in self pity and look back at wasted years and time.
Indeed, if we gave something a fair chance there is no heroism or martyrdom in hanging on. My philosophy is that life is about growth and growth comes through various opportunities but ultimately we need to remember that if a situation is not serving us, you are not doing anybody any favors by holding on.

I like the words: "people should know when to let go". But we are human after all, and there is this X factor always present inside of everyone of us, that makes it so hard sometimes to let go, to forget and to move on.
And as you said here, life should be lived out of a higher purposes, and enjoyment. So my advice for all of you is to let go sometimes, and make your life better, and try to relax more, this could help you alot.
